On Saturday, October 26, 2019, at historic Mechanics Hall in Worcester, Massachusetts, Supporting Orphans Nationally & Globally, Inc. presents “Concert for the Orphans of St. Joseph’s” an evening of fantastic music, dining, and dancing to benefit the orphaned children living at St. Joseph’s Orphanage that we support. This event features New England favorites “Mitch Chakour & his All-Star Band,” blues legend “The James Montgomery Band” with special guest John Cafferty from The Beaver Brown Band, as well as Shrewsbury native singer/songwriter, Cara Brindisi.

A private Cocktail Reception for Sponsors & Dinner Guests begins the evening at 5:00 pm. Doors to the Great Hall open at 6:30 pm, with concert starting at 7:00 pm. There will be a Silent Auction consisting of music & sports memorabilia, artworks, and other great items donated by our Sponsors.

About the Artists:
Mitch Chakour is a keyboardist, guitarist, singer song-writer and arranger. He was Joe Cocker’s music director, keyboardist, and vocalist in the 70’s and 80’s. He has toured with The J. Geils Band, performed with Aerosmith at Fenway Park, has played dates with B.B. King, James Brown, & Bonnie Raitt. Joining Mitch include his daughter Alecia who is currently touring with the Tedeschi Trucks Band; Deric Dyer, saxophone player for both Joe Cocker and Tina Turner’s World Tours; Jon Butcher of The Jon Butcher Axis Band; Cliff Goodwin, lead guitarist for Joe Cocker and the American Standard Band, and many more.
James Montgomery formed his band in 1970 while attending Boston University. His unique harmonica playing combined with his incredibly energetic live shows led to the band’s quick ascension on the New England music scene. James has recorded six albums and has toured with Bonnie Raitt, Bruce Springsteen, the Allman Brothers, Steve Miller, B.B. King and many others.
John Cafferty is the lead vocalist and guitarist of the Beaver Brown Band who are best known for their soundtrack album for the movie Eddie & The Cruisers featuring the hit single “On the Dark Side” that held the number one hit single spot for five consecutive weeks.
