The Mission of our S.O.S. Program is to provide orphaned children needed food, shelter, water, clothing, and educational opportunities to give them a chance of a better life in their future.
This is Rafay, S.O.N.G.’s newly appointed volunteer Program Coordinator of our new out-reach project named “S.O.S.” (SONG Orphan Support) Program in Pakistan. He has recruited seven other volunteers to assist him in traveling to remote villages bringing much-needed support to orphaned children in need. With your support of S.O.N.G. in 2020, eighty-five children received a new “razai” (a cloth-covered bedding with cotton or polyester filled inside) and a gift candy/snack bag for Christmas, and many others received food, clothing, and educational materials as needed. “Thank you all very much for making a blessed Christmas for the orphans. In Pakistan, a staggering 70% of the population is struggling to get food to eat. There are millions of people who cannot rely on getting a regular meal. Sadly, the worst affected are the societies already most vulnerable, especially orphaned children.
With high food prices and mass displacement as a result of local flooding, or a lack of financial stability or even persecution results in many families worrying about where their next meal will be coming from. Orphaned children regularly only eat once a day or once every two days. We have been working to provide food to those so desperately in need.
- For about $1.60 per day ($48.00 per month) you can provide proper food and nourishment for one orphaned child for three meals per day, and the child’s education for the whole school year covering the cost of school fees, books and supplies, proper clothing and medicines.
- For about $1.27 per day ($38 per month) you can provide proper food and nourishment for one orphaned child for three meals per day.
